This year in its 71^st edition, the Locarno Film Festival is offering film enthusiasts from all over the world the opportunity to see the films from the Filmmakers of the Present section free of charge for the very first time. Just register here by 3 August to stand a chance of being one of these 400 lucky cinephiles, who will be notified on 2 August. The films will be available the day after their premiere at the festival and until 31 August.

Users will have one-time access to each film, and the "virtual screening", held in partnership with Cineuropa, will be available on the Festival Scope website or on an iPad with the Festival Scope Player. At the end of each screening, the users will be asked to evaluate the work of first-time directors, one of whom will be presented with the Cinelab Award, a prize that comes with €22,000 in post-production services, courtesy of the Cinelab of Bucharest.
