Called to a small town near Ferrara for an identification, the enigmatic detective Claudio Bindaga has the opportunity to continue his research on the presumed marriage of Duke Alfonso I of Este to Laura Dianti, a working-class woman whose ghost has been haunting the surroundings for 500 years.
