synopsis

June 14, 1935. In an isolated part of Paraguay, Candida and Ramon, an elderly couple of smallholders await the return of their son from the front during the Chaco War. They also await the rain and wind, for the heat to break and for the dogs to stop barking. Ultimately, they wait for better days.
