SANS ARME, NI HAINE, NI VIOLENCE

by Jean-Paul Rouve

synopsis

Arrested in 1977 for having planned, organised and carried out the famous Nice robbery, Albert Spaggiari escapes from the magistrate’s office. For years, he remains elusive and difficult to catch, resisting all attempts by the police. During his legendary time on the run in South America, he meets with many journalists, and has photos taken as a sort of mischievous ‘fingers up’ to the French public. Vincent, a reporter, approaches him and spends a few days in his company in a town in South America. He discovers a person who has nothing to do with organised crime, a sort of Cyrano de Bergerac, generous and broke, who is disappointed not to be able to enjoy his glory more, a grandiose loser, a show-off full of humour and contradictions who is still being tracked down by the French police.
