THE MOUNTAIN IN FRONT
synopsis
Holy Saturday. A van transporting the fireworks of a group of Athenians breaks down in a mountain settlement. In his attempt to buy a firework rocket for his seven-year-old son, Luan, an Albanian who works as a shepherd in the region, comes into contact with the local inhabitants, rekindling an old hostility. Local rancher Thymios can’t stand to see someone with a different religion praying in the pastures where he was raised. He offends Luan, humiliates and sends him away from the settlement. The night takes a dramatic turn and Easter Sunday ends in tragedy.
