IN TURMOIL

by Christophe Ruggia

synopsis

Three childhood friends: Franck and Hélène, who are married with two young children, and Max, who is alone but not by choice. Franck works as a welder and, like the thousands of workers at his factory, he lives in fear of a predicted restructuring. Meanwhile, Max doesn’t care about anything since he was made redundant two years ago and lost everything: his wife, his son, his home and his friends, except for Franck and Hélène. One Friday at the factory, Franck overhears a conversation which devastates him. All the production machines are to be dismantled on the quiet and relocated by lorry before the weekend is over, with €2m in cash being discreetly transferred as part of the deal. Franck broods over his anger and rage. He is torn between whether to rob the money or warn his colleagues about what is being plotted. He decides to talk to Max about it.
