Consultants
- Christophe Mazodier (Polaris)
A graduate of AUDENCIA (Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Nantes) and a holder of a Master of Communication from Sciences Com’, Christophe Mazodier started his professional career in 1993 at the Babelsberg Studios, Berlin, Germany as an assistant to the German producer and director Volker Schlöndorff. During his seven years at the studio he worked on the business plans of numerous international co-productions.
In 2000, he began working as an independent producer and in 2002 he produced Love in Thoughts together with Stefan Arndt (X-Filme Creative Pool), with Achim von Borries as director, and the young German stars Daniel Brühl (Good bye Lenin!) and August Diehl (La petite prairie au bouleau) as the main cast. The film was selected to be shown at many film festivals (including Sundance and Berlin) and won the “Audience Award” for Best Actor at the 2004 European Film Awards.
Since 2000, Christophe Mazodier has also been active as a consultant to European film producers whom he assists to set up, negotiate and finalise the most appropriate international financing solutions for their film projects. Clients of his company Short Cuts include the French companies Fidélité, Albert Film, Euripide, Rezo Films, La Chauve-Souris, Pathé; the German Scopas Medien, Nova Pool and NEF, and the Italian Bruno Della Ragione.
In 2005 Christophe Mazodier set up a new production company, Polaris Film Production & Finance, together with former Vivendi Germany CEO Thierry Potok (The Constant Gardener) and Belgian producer Hubert Toint (Darwin’s Nightmare). In 2006, he has produced 2 Days by and with Julie Delpy and with Adam Goldberg and Daniel Brühl.
- Lene Børglum
started her carrier within the Danish Film Institute in 1986. In 1989, she produced her first independent film and video productions. Right after it was founded in 1992, Lene joined Zentropa where she occupied for many years the position of Head of legal Affairs before focusing on production. Among the many films she produced are all Lars von Trier’s movies as executive producer, Sea of Silence by Stijn Coninx and Chacun sa nuit by Jean Marc Barr and Pascal Arnold.
- David Heinzel
Trained as a producer at the renowned Ludwigsburg Film Academy (Germany), David Heinzel has over six years experience in European cinema. He has also attended several training courses, such as those offered by the SOURCES2 programme.
In 2001, David joined Eurimages before moving to the Technical Assistance Office of the MEDIA Plus programme in Brussels in 2002. His positions have led him to become an expert in production projects from the 25 European Union countries.
His activities as producer include a recent documentary, a co-production between Germany and Brazil to be released in 2007, as well as other projects.
- Colin Davis
BA Hons. (Greats. Oxford), MA Drama, Diploma in Drama (Manchester).
Colin became Script Editor for the UK animation company Cosgrove Hall Films in 1999 and Company Development Manager a year later. His work with Cosgrove Hall has led to that world famous company adopting revolutionary new techniques for market analysis, targeting markets and focusing animation products.
Colin continues to work with Cosgrove Hall Films as their Creative Development Consultant and also works as Development Consultant to the animation industry worldwide. He has worked on the series Rag Pack (3-d, puppets), which Cosgrove Hall have developed for VGI Entertainment and on Cosgrove Hall’s latest presentation, Sky Babies (CGI), which is being negotiated with Disney UK. He is Executive Producer/Script Director for Hanson Productions’ new series in development, The Buddies.
He lectures regularly at the Cartoon Master Producer Training event, Cartoon Creativity.
- Carlo d'Ursi
Graduated in Economics at the University of Bari and he has a Master in Audiovisual Management - MEGA
at the Media Business School in Madrid. Carlo has been working for nearly 7 years between Spain and Italy, in film production.
During his Spanish stay, Carlo d'Ursi worked for El Deseo, run by
Pedro & Augustin Almodovar ; then left for Alta Produccion - Alta Films Group, where he carried out the financial coordination of international co-productions for various films, among which La notte dei Girasoli by Jorge Sanchez-Cabezudo, Dotcom by Luis Galvao Teles, Triple
Agent by Eric Rohmer. Furthermore, he dealt with the preparation and follow up of proposals for Eurimages and Media, always with positive results.
Since January 2006, he has been working as an independent producer and as consultant in financial and literary development for Spanish
production and distribution film companies. During the course of the
year he was granted the "Media New Talent" support for the development of the project In the name of death, I will love you forever, which he wrote and produced himself.
- Luigi Sardiello
Born in Florence, he has a Masters in Law and a Masters
in Communication. He has been consultant in the field of financing and film development for the training course Mediscript, financed by the Media Programme. He has studied film criticism with Guido Aristarco and
film technique with Robert McKee and Nikita Mikhalkov. He has been the managing
director of the European cinema magazine FILMMAKER since 1998, head of cinema
content at the wireless site Wind since 2002 and managing director of the
daily publications of the Torino, Noir in, Far East and Pesaro film festivals
since 2000. He has been teaching writing theory and techniques at the faculty
of Science and Communication at Rome's La Sapienza University since 1999.
He has been the co-ordinator of the Master of Cinema and Television Writing
at the European Institute of Design in Rome since 1998 and teaches writing
techniques at the RAI writers school and other Italian universities. He has
written three features for cinema, two television series and two novels.

Procedure Please follow this procedure:
- The producer sends the form to caruso@cineuropa.org. Cineuropa verifies if the request is acceptable. In case of positive answer, the producer has to make a bank transfer of €300 excl. tax to Cineuropa. (For companies or individuals based in the EU and not registered for VAT, Cineuropa.org is obliged to charge you for it. In this case, the service will cost €363.)
