Central to LIM's philosophy is a belief in collaborative development across the whole industry spectrum. Actively involving script professionals, producers, sales agents and film-fund managers, LIM advocates for a holistic approach. By fostering a shared toolkit and language, the organisation cultivates mutual understanding and facilitates more effective collaboration. Prioritising feedback rooted in emotions over judgement, LIM Development Angels champions a culture of respect and empathy, allowing authors the freedom to explore ideas at their own pace. Through this inclusive and supportive environment, LIM Development Angels seeks to redefine industry standards, promoting a culture of collaboration and innovation.

LIM MEET serves as a vital component of this, enhancing the workshop experience for participants by providing a unique platform for industry professionals to engage with early-stage LIM projects. Unlike traditional co-production markets, LIM MEET curates a select group of industry professionals, offering invaluable insights to scriptwriters. This event allows Development Angels to apply recently acquired approaches and tools, providing fresh perspectives and guidance to authors in shaping their narratives. The organic connections formed during LIM MEET often lead to future collaborations, underscoring its significance in fostering meaningful relationships and advancing project development.

Innovative tools and approaches introduced to Development Angels aim to enhance project and script development by delving into the crucial "pre-writing" phase. This stage, essential for establishing a strong foundation before actual writing begins, empowers writers and increases their autonomy within the development process. Through oral storytelling and visual aids like mind-mapping and rhizome projection, participants explore and test ideas, mitigating the risk of losing clarity in early drafts. By embracing these unconventional pre-writing techniques, Development Angels not only support writers in refining their narratives, but also foster a collaborative environment conducive to creativity and exploration.

Development Angels’ participation in the training programme and subsequent events is guided by specific goals and outcomes. Emphasising a participant-centred approach, the programme aims to empower Development Angels to walk alongside writers, embracing vulnerability and fostering a common language of collaboration. Rather than acting as experts, Development Angels offer support and encouragement, enriching the elaboration process and respecting the unique rhythm of each author's development journey. By learning to give substance to feedback rooted in emotions and establishing a common narrative language, Development Angels play a crucial role in shaping narratives, strengthening stories and enhancing the overall creative development process. Ultimately, the programme seeks to equip Development Angels with the necessary tools and the mindset to harness limitations as catalysts for creativity, facilitating an exciting and transformative development journey for both writers and industry professionals.
