Burhan Qurbani

Born in Erkelenz, Germany, in 1980. After graduation, in 2000 he began working in theatre as an assistant dramaturge, then as an assistant director. He took up feature film directing at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in 2002.

His short film Illusion won the German Camera Award and German Critics' Award in 2008. Shahada is his first feature film.
