François Ozon
Born in Paris on 15 November 1967, after graduating in film from the Sorbonne he studied directing at the Parisian film school FEMIS from 1990-93.
After several short films, he made a name for himself with a family farce, Sitcom (1998). He took part in Competition at the Berlinale in the year 2000 with his Fassbinder adaptation Gouttes d'eau sur pierres brulantes, and again in 2002 with 8 Femmes.
His films Sous le sable and Swimming Pool (both of which starred Charlotte Rampling) enjoyed successful theatrical runs.
