Hans Steinbichler

Born in Solothurn, Switzerland in 1969, he studied at the University of Television and Film Munich. His graduation film Hierankl won a number of prizes including a Bavarian Film Award and a Grimme Award. He followed this with Winterreise (Winter Journey) for which lead actor Josef Bierbichler won the 2007 German Film Award. In 2008 his television film Die Zweite Frau (My mother, My Bride And I)  won another Grimme Award. He has also made documentaries and has directed episodes for the Bayerischer Rundfunk television series Polizeiruf 110.
