Santiago Segura

Santiago Segura has worked as an actor for some of the big-name helmers in today’s Spanish cinema. As a director, he took his first steps in 1989 with the short film Relatos de la medianoche, going on, four years later, to win the Goya for Best Fictional Short Film withPerturbado. His first feature film Torrente, el brazo tonto de la ley (Torrente, the Dumb Arm of the Law, 1998), became the biggest Spanish box-office hit until then and bagged the Best New Director Goya. The saga continued with Torrente 2: Misión en Marbella (Torrente 2: Mission in Marbella, 2001), Torrente 3: el protector (Torrente 3: The Protector, 2005) and Torrente 4: Lethal Crisis(2011).
