Matthias Glasner
Born in Hamburg on 20 January 1965, he worked at Hamburg Opera House and as a film projectionist. He lived abroad in Russia and Texas and, in 1983, started making films with Birgit Staudt.
In 1993 Glasner, who was a musician in the band homesweethome, founded the Hamburg-based company Jack Film and Music Production. A year later, he made his feature film debut, Die Mediocren, which was shown in the Panorama section of the Berlinale in 1995.
In 1996 he and Jürgen Vogel founded the production company Schwarzweiss Filmproduktion. (Berlin film festival)
