Ten producers with feature films in development have been selected to participate together with five additional European professionals wanting to extend their knowledge and network towards Asia at the ninth edition of Ties That Bind - Asia/Europe Co-Production Workshop, organised by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund and EAVE and supported by Creative Europe - MEDIA.

The first workshop will take place in Udine (Italy) from 25–29 April during the Udine Far East Film Festival (21-29 April), and the second one will be organised in Singapore from 25 November-1 December 2017 during the Southeast Asian Film Financing Forum (SAFF). The participants will be coached by pitching consultant Sibylle Kurz and script consultant Clare Downs, and will work under the guidance of group leaders: Elise Jalladeau (France’s Charivari Films and Thessaloniki International Film Festival, Greece) and Shanty Harmayn (Indonesia’s Salto Film).

At the Udine Far East Film Festival, Ties That Bind will partner with Focus Asia, its industry section attended by more than 100 film professionals from Europe and Asia. The event will host panels on digital distribution by XYZ’s Todd Brown and film investing by peacefulfish’s Juliane Schulze, as well as a co-production case study on the Berlinale-premiered title Mr. Long [+leggi anche:

and a session on independent distribution in Europe, held by Arizona ProductionsGuillaume de Seille.

The festival is also launching the first edition of the Focus Asia Genre Project Market, whose line-up is peppered with titles that have participated in previous editions of the Ties That Bind scheme, including Femme Fatale (produced by TTB expert Guillaume de Seille and directed by TTB 2015 participant Kyoko Miyake).
