), who will be taking hold of the reins of the film adaptation of the Flemish franchise FC De Kampioenen for the second time, a real cross-media old-fashioned success story, available as a comic, TV series and now in film format.

Screen Flanders will also be supporting Baba Yega The Movie by Michael Van Ostade, which has just wrapped up filming with an impressive Flemish cast, including Barbara Sarafian, Tom Audenaert, and Sam Louwyck among others. The fund will also finally be supporting season 3 of the series Versailles, directed by the Belgian filmmaker Pieter Van Hees.

The Flemish regional fund will also be financing many international co-productions, including the new film by Thomas Vinterberg, largely shot in Belgium, with a prestigious cast (Mathias Schoenaerts, Colin Firth, Léa Seydoux, Max Von Sydow) (read the news here), the new animated film by Ari Folman, Where Is Anne Frank?, a co-production between Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg (news), and yet another animated film by an Israeli filmmaker, Dragon Rider, supported by the German company Constantin.

Note that the fund is also due to support two Scandinavian series, the Belgo-Norwegian co-production State of Happiness and the criminal series Cold Courage, co-produced with Finland and Ireland, as well as a new adaptation of Misérables piloted by the BBC, and directed by Tom Shankland.
