Wallimage, the Walloon audiovisual investment fund, will have supported 35 feature films or series (live, documentary or animation) in 2017. In its 87th selection session, and the final meeting for 2017, the fund selected eight projects to support, including two feature films, two genre films, as well as films in English.

The first film to be selected, La Chambre, was produced in Belgium by Versus Production. Its director, Christian Volckman, became well-known following an award-winning animated short film, Maaz (1999), followed by the animation Renaissance [+leggi anche:

(2006), winner of the Cristal for Best Feature Film at Annecy. La Chambre is an intimate thriller about a young couple in search of authenticity, who decide to leave the city to do up an old house in a remote area. However, in this strange house they find a special room, which seems able to make all their desires come true. The film stars Kevin Janssens (Above the Law [+leggi anche:

The second feature film to be supported is Vivarium [+leggi anche:

by Lorcan Finnegan, an Irish thriller this time, produced by the Irish company Fantastic Films by Frakas, which seems to be decidedly focused on European genre films followings its support of Muse [+leggi anche:

. By chance or coincidence, the film also follows a young couple looking for their perfect first home. Ultimately their quest will lead them far away from their initial goal. 

Wallimage will also be supporting the RTBF series, Champion, which is currently being filmed, a comedy about a former international football star in distress, produced by Kings of Comedy and Nexus, as well as the new 26-minute saga Panique au Village by Stéphane Patar and Vincent Aubier, also produced by Panic!, and the perfect opportunity to complete their trilogy, which began with La Bûche de Noël and La Rentrée des classes, with the aim of a theatrical release.

Wallimage will also support the feature film version of the animation series Yakari, distributed in Belgium by Belvision, as well as Le Chemin des femmes, a documentary by Tristan Bourlard.
