), Fourmi's screenplay is an adaptation of the Spanish graphic novel Dream Team by Mario Torrecillas and Artur Laperla. The film’s producer has described the plot as like a "French Billy Elliot," focusing on a father-son relationship, with the son (12 years old) inventing a lie to help his destitute father. 

Produced by Michael Gentile for The Film (which was also involved in Julien Rappeneau's debut), Fourmi will be co-produced by France 2 Cinéma and the Belgian outfit Scope Pictures. Pre-purchased by France 2, Canal+ and OCS, the feature film is also being supported by Sofica Cofimage. Filming is due to take place from 11 June to 3 August in Ile-de-France. French distribution and international sales will be revealed at a later date.
