The D'A - Barcelona Film Festival has announced the projects selected for the fourth edition of its programme to promote emerging talent D'A Film Lab Barcelona, which will take place from 5 to 8 April within the festival (4-14 April). A total of 106 projects were submitted to the lab, from which a final selection of 23 participants was made. They will receive intensive support, film screenings and pitching in Final Cut, personalised advice sessions for each project, networking meetings and specialised workshops.

The Final Cut section, aimed at films in post-production, has selected: La mitad de Ana (read more), the feature directorial debut (she already directed the short Son) of actress Marta Nieto; La furia, the second film by Gemma Blasco (read more); Ejercicios para ver a Dios, the new film from Miguel Ángel Blanca, who demonstrated his ingenuity in Magaluf Ghost Town [+leggi anche:

and the series Self-Defense; Por donde pasa el silencio, the first film by Sandra Romero (read more); Bailar la muerte, a documentary directed by the film specialist Luis E. Parés; Fósiles del mar blanco, an experimental documentary by actress Lina Gorbaneva; Papamama, also a non-fiction film by photojournalist Lorena Ros; and Dream of Another Summer, an experimental documentary and debut film by Irene Bartolomé. The Final Cut section also includes the new space Panorama Catalunya, which focuses on Catalan and Catalan-language projects in the post-production phase.

A jury made up of Rebecca de Paso (IFFR), Nadine Rothschild (Materia Cinema) and Carlos Madrid (director of the Valencian film festival CinemaJove) will decide on the best Final Cut film, which will receive a prize of 20,000 euros.

And the Producció Emergent section will focus on Spanish projects in the development phase. This section will feature, among others, Adiós, amor, the new work by Zaida Carmona (Girlfriends and Girlfriends [+leggi anche:

; La Carn by Joan Porcel (Samantha Hudson: Una historia de fe, sexo y electro-queer); and Catorce de marzo, directed by Alberto Gross Molo, which just went through the Berlinale Talents Script Station.

Within this same section, this year D'A Film Lab Barcelona is creating a new collaboration space between laboratories, inviting three projects from other industry spaces: Adeus, Berta, directed by Fernando Tato and invited by the Producers Meet Producers of Audiovisual Producers of Catalonia – PAC; Ezagutzen Ditugun Bekain Guztiak, directed by Marta Codesido and Núria Ubach, invited by NOKA Mentoring of the Basque Government and organised by Tabakalera; and Solo los muertos se quedan, directed by Alejandro Renedo, invited by Jornadas DCP of the Cantabria Film Commission.
