Co-written by Edelényi, Hules Endre, Salamon Pál and Maria Stankova, Prima Primavera centres on Gabor (Lukats), a 60-year-old as naive as a child, whose life is turned upside down by the death of his mother during a failed bank raid.

Gabor is capable of identifying the offenders, who start tracking him down. Fearing for his life, he makes off towards Serbia, along with the only other witness to the crime: a Ukrainian prostitute named Jolie (Kazakova).

There follows a chaotic journey for survival, during which the fugitives learn to overcome their differences, make peace with the world and themselves, whilst trying to escape from their determined pursuers.

Produced by Hungary’s Eurofilm Stúdió, Prima Primavera was co-produced by Bulgaria’s Geopoly, the UK’s Vita Nova Films and Holland’s Riba Film International. The film also received backing from Hungary’s Education and Culture Ministry, the Motion Picture Public Foundation of Hungary (MMKA), Hungarian television network TV2, the Bulgarian National Film Centre, Bulgarian National Television, Dutch company Eyeworks Holding and the EU’s MEDIA Programme.
