Popular British independent cinema actor Danny Dyer (The Last Seven) is playing the lead in psychological thriller Deviation, principal photography for which is underway at London locations.

JK Amalou (Hard Men, The Man Who Would Be Queen) is directing from his own script. Set over the course of one night, Dyer plays an escaped prisoner named Frankie who kidnaps a young nurse, Amber, in order to get a bargaining chip with the authorities and leave the country. British actress Anna Walton (Mutant Chronicles, Hell Boy 2: The Golden Army) plays Amber.

Dyer said, “Frankie is a complex guy, he’s not just a psycho. He’s a tortured soul, but not one of those fellas Hollywood asks you to believe the hostage will identify with and even try and help get away. This guy is evil, but we can see why he’s ended up like this.”

The producers note, “Rooted in reality, the film will opt for a naturalistic, verité POV style to tell the story of Amber's horrifying journey. This technique will put the audience at the centre of the story, placing them firmly on the seat of the rollercoaster right alongside Amber.”
