Cannes 2005 – Sweden
Three market premieres for NonStop
Stockholm-based international sales company NonStop Sales is coming to Cannes with ten titles screening at the market, including the three market premieres Kissed By Winter by the Norwegian Sara Johnsen, Harbour Brothers by the Finnish Pekka Mandart, and Revel Fox’s The Flyer, the first South-African pick-up for NonStop.
Kissed By Winter is the feature film debut of Sara Johnsen starring Norwegian lead actor Kristoffer Joner and Swedish actress Annika Hallin. Praised by the critics when it opened in Norway on February 11, the film was produced by Christian Frederik Martin and Asle Vatn for Friland Film. Harbour Brothers is inspired by people who lived in the Finnish port city of Kotka in the 1950’s, a time when jazz, swing and blues was imported by sailors. A native of Kotka, the director Pekka Mandart says that “the harbour made Kotka different, mind absorbing and sinful”. The film starring Mikko Leppilampi and Mikko Nousiainen was produced by Pamela Mandart for Mandart Entertainment

The feature film debut of Revel Fox The Flyer was released domestically in South Africa on April 8th and received appraisals for excellent performances. It is the story of a young colored kid saved from the mean street of Cape Town by an old trapeze artist who teaches him the gravity-defying world of trapeze flying. The English/Afrikaans-language drama starring Marcel van Heerden, Craig Palm and Ian van der Heyden is produced by IMG.
Michael Werner, NonStop’ sales director and Karin Thun, sales executive will be available to negotiate their whole Cannes line-up at the Scandinavian Terrace.
