New film by Bothersome writer

Per Schreiner, one of Norway’s most established scriptwriters, and seven of the country’s top actors and actresses have boarded 4 ½ Production's new feature project Lønsj [+see also:

, which was just awarded NOK9.1m (€1.1m) from the Norwegian Film Fund towards its NOK 14.2m (€1.7m) budget.

The project will be 35 year-old Eva Sørhaug’s first feature film. Sørhaug, who studied at the Academy of Art College (MFA) in San Francisco and was a guest student at Dramatiska Institut in Sweden, has already directed several shorts scripted by Schreiner.

The latter – who writes for film, television and radio – was awarded the Prix Europa in 2005 and his collaboration with filmmaker Jens Lien has brought him three times to Cannes, for the short films Shut the Door (2000) and Natural Glasses (2001) and this year for the acclaimed feature The Bothersome Man [+see also:

Sørhaug and Schreiner’s first feature film together will be an ensemble piece with several stories woven together around the central theme of sport. The cast will include many Norwegian Shooting Stars of the last four years, including Maria Bonnevie (I Am Dina), Aksel Hennie (Hawaii, Oslo [+see also:

) Ane Dahl Torp (High School Teacher Pedersen), as well as familiar faces Bjørn Floberg (Kitchen Stories) and Sven Nordin (Elling [+see also:

).

The film’s DoP will be John Andreas Andersen (Uro [+see also:

)

Produced by Håkon Øverås and Ågot Skjeldal for Spillefilmkompaniet 4½, Lønsj will start shooting on May 8, 2007 and will be released in Norway by Nordisk Film Distribution on February 2008.
