Christopher Lee (
Star Wars).
Triage, which is written by Tanovic based on Scott Anderson’s novel, will explore a photojournalist’s girlfriend’s travails as she strives to unlock a mystery. The film starts shooting in April at the Ciudad de la Luz studios in Alicante, Spain, for five weeks. This will be followed by a three-week Dublin shoot.

Seamus Deasy, who won a Best Cinematography IFTA for
The Tiger’s Tail, will shoot the film. In addition to his acting duties, Farrell also takes an Executive Producer credit.
The Irish/French/Spanish co-production is produced by
Parallel Films’
Alan Moloney (
Breakfast on Pluto [
trailer],
Intermission), with ASAP Films’
Cédomir Kolar (
Before the Rain) and along will with Freeform Spain, the Irish Film Board, Tornasol Films S.A. and the Aramid Entertainment Fund.
Moloney said, “Danis has written a powerful and moving script with a universal appeal. The prospect of himself and Colin Farrell working together alongside the beauty and talent of Paz Vega and an icon of cinema like Christopher Lee is very exciting for us all.”
The film was originally developed at Anthony Minghella and Sydney Pollack’s Mirage Enterprises. Acknowledging Minghella, Kolar said, “I am deeply sad he will never be able to see the completed film directed by his friend Danis Tanovic.”
Hanway Films (with CAA in North America) are handling international sales and will begin the process at Cannes. RAI Cinema and Canal Plus will distribute the film in Italy and France respectively.
