In the screenplay, written by Pierre Salvadori with David Colombo-Léotard, 40-year-old musician Antoine abruptly decides to end his career. After a few days wandering, he finds a job as a doorman. Mathilde, a young retiree, discovers a worrying crack in her living room wall. Her worry gradually grows into panic. What if the building were about to fall down? Antoine slowly befriends this woman who he fears is about to become mad. With all their sideslips and worries, they will form a clumsy, comic, yet united duo, which will help them, perhaps, to overcome this tough period in their lives.

Produced by Philippe Martin for Les Films Pelléas (who have produced all of Pierre Salvadori's features since Wild Target in 1993, including Les Apprentis and Après vous), Dans la cour is to be co-produced by France 2 Cinéma. Pre-acquired by Canal + and Ciné +, the film is to be distributed in France and sold internationally by Wild Bunch.

Les Films Pelléas also currently have Serge Bozon's Tip Top (with Isabelle Huppert, Sandrine Kiberlain, and François Damiens - read more) and Nicole Garcia's Il est parti dimanche (with Louise Bourgoin - read more) in post-production, and on Wednesday are to release Elie Wajeman's very promising Alyah [+see also:
