Cannes: Jane Campion for the short film and Cinéfondation juries

- The filmmaker from New Zealand will judge films in the running on the Croisette in May, in the Cinéfondation Selection and the competition for short films

Films produced by cinema schools in the Cinéfondation Selection and shorts in competition at the 66th Cannes Film Festival (from May 15th to 26th, 2013) will be judged by a jury presided by filmmaker Jane Campion of New Zealand (Palme d’Or in 1993 with The Piano), who thus succeeds Jean-Pierre Dardenne, Michel Gondry and Martin Scorsese. In all, the jury will include five personalities from the world of cinema.

Among others, the competition in Cannes for short movies has revealed Lynne Ramsay and Nuri Bilge Ceylan (as well as Jane Campion herself, victorious in 1986), while the Cinéfondation Selection has presented in the past films made by schools signed, for example, by Kornél Mundruczo, Corneliu Porumboiu and Jessica Hausner.
