True to its commitment to diversity and to favouring quality arthouse cinema from all over the globe, France is involved in 12 out of the 19 feature films selected in Un Certain Regard (read the article and the news) at the 68th Cannes Film Festival (13-24 May 2015), with four majority productions and eight minority ones.

Two young French filmmakers will be on the line-up. Alice Winocour, who turned a lot of heads with Augustine [+see also:

Starring Belgian actor Matthias Schoenaerts and German actress Diane Kruger, the film was produced by Isabelle Madelaine for Dharamsala and by Emilie Tisné for Darius Films for a budget of €4.85 million, including a co-production by France 3 Cinéma, pre-purchases by Canal+ and Ciné+, and an advance on receipts from the CNC. The French theatrical release will be handled by Mars Distribution, while international sales are managed by Indie Sales

Produced by Dominique Besnehard and Michel Feller for Mon Voisin Productions for a budget of €3.36 million, I Am a Soldier was co-produced by Hubert Toint for Belgian outfit Saga Film. Having been pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, the feature was also backed by the CNC’s advance on receipts and by Eurimages. Distribution in France and international sales will be handled by Le Pacte.
