Written by the director, the script focuses on Lucie (Alexandra Lamy), who has always dreamed of having a baby. During a business trip to Tangier, a young African woman entrusts Lucie with her newborn child, causing her a great deal of distress. This distress is intensified as the mother disappears into the surrounding area. With help from a compassionate humanitarian doctor (Brontis Jodorowsky), she scours the medina in search of the mother… But does she really want to find her?

Produced by Laura Briand for Les Films d’Ici, Par instinct is being co-produced by Film Factory, with line producers from the Moroccan outfit Ali N’Film. With Canal+, Cine+ and RTS having already bought the rights, the film will be shot over eight weeks in Tangier, Casablanca and Paris, with David Cailley (Love at First Fight [+see also:
