As before, Rasmus Bjerg, Mick Øgendahl and Jonatan Spang star as petty-criminal siblings Timo, Ralf and Nikolai, but otherwise things have changed. Timo has become a law-abiding citizen and found a job as a nursery teacher, and Nikolai has got divorced and is about to lose visitation rights for his son if he does not cough up the five years of child support he is behind with.

Now their father Arno has died, and when they learn that his most valuable possession – an old motorcycle – has been left to an unknown fourth brother, Timo and Ralf take off for Italy; however, the brother appears to be a sister, Kim (Sonja Richter), and since the bike has been confiscated by a local fur manufacturer and mafioso, the three siblings have to prepare for a major coup.

“It is great to have everyone from the old cast back together and, not least, to add some experienced people to the team. And I think we have found the right story that will make the new instalment both funnier and better than anything we have made previously,” Heide promised. Also, producer Ronnie Fridthjof is convinced that “number three will be the best”.

Also starring Zlatko Buric, Kirsten Lehfeldt, Rikke Louise Andersson, Tena Tadić, Sven Jakir and Draško Zidar, and scripted by Heide and Jacob Tingleff from a story by Øgendahl, Three Heists and a Hamster will film on location in Istria until 29 April. It is being produced by Fridthjof and Mille Bjørke for Fridthjof Film, with Denmark’s TV2, Nordisk Film and Radiator Film, Croatia’s Spiritus Movens and the Croatian Audiovisual Centre. Nordisk Film Distribution has scheduled the local release for 2 February 2017.
