Gilles Bourdos prepares Renoir, la Source

28/06/2011 - Seasoned actorMichel Bouquet and Vincent Rottiers(nominated for the César Award for Most Promising Actor in 2010 for Je suis heureux que ma mère soit vivante [trailer]) will play the roles of the famous painter Auguste Renoir and his son, the less famous film-maker Jean Renoir, in Renoir, la Source by Gilles Bourdos.
Made famous by Disparus (Directors' Fortnight 1998), Gilles Bourdos went on to direct Inquiétudes (2004) and the English language film Afterwards which was shown in Toronto in 2008.
The screenplay, details of which remain closely guarded, is written by Jérôme Tonnerre (Service Entrance [trailer]) and will be based at the beginning of the 20th century, more specifically in the period around the First World War.
Produced by Olivier Delbosc and Marc Missonnier for Fidélité Films, Renoir, la Source will be shot in September and October.
