Unveiled in the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight 2011 and shown, among others, at Toronto and the recent Sundance, this feature is a loose adaptation of Pierre Drieu La Rochelle’s novel Will O’ The Wisp (previously brought to the big screen by Louis Malle in 1963). It will be released in French theatres on February 29 by Memento.

The French feature film competition was topped by Héléna Klotz’s debut feature Atomic Age, which has been selected in the Panorama at the upcoming Berlinale (February 9-19, 2012). Scripted by the director (daughter of filmmaking couple Nicolas Klotz and Elizabeth Perceval), the film centres on two young suburbanites (played by Dominick Wojcik and Eliott Paquet) who come to spend an evening in Paris, rushing from disappointment to disappointment, from fruitless flirting to street fights, before going away into the city night towards the forest… Produced by Kidam with Arte France, this debut feature is sold internationally by Rendez-vous Pictures.
