Doc & Film International takes five films to Berlin

With feature film Spain by Austrian director Anja SalomonowitzBerlinale to be held from February 9 to 19, French international sales company Doc & Film International will be in good stead at the European Film Market this year.

In the Panorama, Doc & Film will compete with Franco-Qatari documentary The Virgin, the Copts, and Me by Namir Abdel Messeeh, which follows the sceptical director as he investigates mysterious Virgin apparitions in Egypt.

Daniela Elstner’s team will also sell four films at the forum. Produced by Dor Film and featuring Tatjana Alexander, Grégoire Colin, and Lukas Miko, Spain by Anja Salomonowitz retraces the misadventures of Sava who lands in Austria after the truck he was hiding in has an accident. He tries to make his way to Spain, and meets many characters along the way.

Doc & Film will show three documentaries at the forum: Franco-Cambodian co-production Golden Slumbers by Davy Chou, Franco-Japenese co-production No Man’s Zone by Toshi Fujiwara, and Israeli production Soldier/Citizen by Silvina Landsmann.

In Berlin, Doc & Film will notably conduct the sales of The Minister [+see also:

by Pierre Schoeller, in line with its 11 nominations for Cannes 2012. It will screen Just Like A Woman by Rachid Bouchareb (article) and The Stargazer by Stan Neumann (news).

Still in post-production, A Child by You by Jacques Doillon (article) and Sex and Love in Times of Crisis byEric Pittard (article) will also be on show.
