film profile]). Das Leben Ist Zu Lang ("Life Is Too Long") is a tragicomedy about the difficulty of achieving family happiness, in which Levy heightens the interplay between fiction and autobiographical elements.
Acclaimed theatre actor Markus Hering plays Jewish film director Alfi Seliger who goes from crisis to crisis, related to his job, his role as a father and as the son of an eccentric Jewish mother. He ends up staging a dramatic suicide attempt from which he escapes and wakes up a new man.
Hering stars alongside a host of excellent actors, including Udo Kier (Soul Kitchen [+see also:

film profile]), Veronica Ferres, Heino Ferch, Yvonne Catterfeld, Justus von Dohnanyi and Kurt Krömer, to name just a few.
The film is produced by Manuela Stehr for X Filme Creative Pool, in co-production with Warner Bros. Entertainment.
Shooting will take place in Berlin and Italy and is scheduled to wrap up at the end of October. X Verleih will release the film domestically.
