06/10/2009 - EuropaCorp cofounder Pierre-Ange Le Pogam will deliver the keynote address at this year’s Film London Production Finance Market (PFM, October 21-22).
Le Pogam’s attendance reflects the PFM’s stronger European focus, which sees an increase in the number of European participants this year including Wild Bunch (France), RAI Cinema (Italy), Haut et Court (France), Filmax (Spain) and MK2 (France).
Companies presenting projects include Razor Film Produktion GmbH (Waltz with Bashir [trailer]), Warp Films (This Is England [trailer]), Qwerty Films (The Duchess [trailer]), Tornasol Films (Coppola’s Tetro [trailer]), Recorded Picture Company (Creation [trailer]), Origin Pictures (Love Hate), R&C Produzioni (Disengagement [trailer]) and Number 9 Films (How to Lose Friends & Alienate People [trailer]).
Film London CEO Adrian Wootton said, “The PFM offers a strategic solution to independent film financing creating a forum for these essential relationships to develop. We have an impressive range of participants this year and I am especially pleased to welcome Pierre-Ange Le Pogam for his first ever appearance at such a forum.”
Daniel Battsek, President of Miramax Films and keynote speaker at PFM 2008 said, “After just a few years of existence, the PFM has become an important engagement for members of the independent and specialty film community. The market provides a wide range of access to top financiers, producers, and filmmakers. Events of this kind have proved very beneficial to the development and success of our business.”
The London Development Agency, the UK Film Council, UK Trade & Investment, MEDIA and peacefulfish support the PFM. There is also a partnership with the New Cinema Network at the Rome International Film Festival.
