Matteo Rovere to make second film from Gli Sfiorati

The second film by Matteo Rovere, the 26-year-old director of Bad Girls [+see also:

(in competition at the 2008 Rome Film Festival) will be based on Gli Sfiorati, the 1990 novel by Sandro Veronesi.

Set in Rome in the 1980s, the novel centres on blond, 17-year-old Belinda, who is rich, spoiled and used to getting her way and living superficially. One day her brother has to take care of her.

Produced by Domenico Procacci of Fandango, Gli Sfiorati – currently in the pre-casting phase – was adapted for the screen by the director and Francesco Piccolo (Quiet Chaos [+see also:
