Match Factory picks up Tykwer’s Three

by

Tom Tykwer’s new project, Three, finished shooting last week and was immediately added to international seller The Match Factory’s catalogue.

The film takes a mature look at the lives of Berliners of Tykwer’s generation via an unusual love triangle (skilfully portrayed by Sophie Rois, Devid Striesow and Sebastian Schipper). It represents a return home for the director on many levels, including thematic and linguistic (after his English-language movies Perfume: The Story of a Murderer [+see also:

), as well as in production terms, for Tykwer reunites on Three with his partner Stefan Arndt and their production company X Filme after ten years (see news).

and Run Lola Run) what he refers to as the "X Filme international sales model".

Weber is convinced that Three will attract a lot of international interest and enjoy a career comparable to that of Run Lola Run. He has already started negotiating the rights for several territories.

X Verleih will launch the film in Germany next autumn.
