15/03/2010 - In its second sitting of 2010, German Films’ Distribution Support awards committee chose to fund nine foreign theatrical campaigns of domestic films, for a total of €81,000. Another two theatrical releases were awarded €25,000 in a further decision.
The committee is supporting the following films:
Everyone Else [trailer, film focus] and John Rabe [trailer] in the USA
The Charlemagne Code in China
Lissi and the Wild Emperor in Brazil
Friends Forever [trailer] and Rabbit Without Ears 2 in the CIS states
Soul Kitchen [trailer] in Brazil
The White Ribbon [trailer, film focus] in Argentina, the CIS and Baltic states and Hong Kong/Macau
Desert Flower [trailer] in France.
Distribution Support subsidies are awarded for additional measures over and above a film’s release campaign planned by the foreign distributor. Support of a maximum of €50,000 is granted in the form of a conditionally repayable loan. Funding of up to €10,000 can also be allocated as a grant.
