Beaune crowns The Secret In Their Eyes and Créteil honours Pudana Last of The Line

12/04/2010 - The jury presided by filmmaker Olivier Marchal yesterday awarded the Grand Prize at the 2nd Beaune International Thriller Film Festival to Juan José Campanella’s The Secret In Their Eyes [trailer], which also scooped the Special Police Prize presented by an international jury of seven police officers. The Argentinean/Spanish co-production, which won the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar 2010, will be released in France by Pretty Pictures on May 5.
The Jury Prize went to Mexican director Carlos Carrera’s Backyard, and the Critics’ Award to Michael Winterbottom’s US/UK co-production The Killer Inside Me [trailer] (in competition at the Berlinale 2010 - Mars Distribution).
The 32nd Créteil International Women’s Film Festival, which also closed yesterday, crowned Anastasia Lapsui and Markku Lehmuskallio’s Finnish feature Pudana Last of The Line, which was unveiled at Berlin in the Generation 14+ section.
Finally, on the documentary side, the jury honoured Helga Reidemeister’s German title War and Love in Kabul, while the audience unanimously opted for Ritu Sarin and Sonam Tenzing’s The Sun Behind the Clouds: Tibet' s Struggle for Freedom.
