Fresnadillo gets ready to shoot Intruders

by

The new work by one of Spain’s most internationally acclaimed young directors, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, will be the second production by Apaches Entertainment. Founded just over a year ago by Enrique López Lavigne and Belén Atienza (see news), it is destined to become a point of reference for ambitious, international projects with major commercial potential.

, will start shooting in June on Intruders, described by producer López Lavigne as “a genre film that offers the chance to explore fears originating in childhood". The 12-week shoot will take place in London and Madrid.

Scripted by Nicolás Casariego and Jaime Marqués, Intruders centres on an 11-year-old girl who confronts her inner demons. This is why the Canary Island-born director emphasised "the visual world that springs from our most secret self, from the ghosts buried in our unconscious". The film stars UK actor Clive Owen, alongside Germany’s Daniel Brühl.

This ambitious production has backing from three major companies, including the above-mentioned Apaches, Antena 3 and US giant Universal Pictures International. The latter will distribute the film internationally.

The first production by Apaches is Eduardo Chapero-Jackson’s debut feature, Verbo, which is currently in post-production and will be sold internationally by Filmax Int'l. For this project, the production company joined forces with Telecinco Cinema and there is every indication it will do the same on its third production, the eagerly-awaited new work by J.A. Bayona (The Orphanage [+see also:

), which is still in preparation.
