Ramsay talks about Kevin in Connecticut

) has begun shooting her psychological thriller We Need to Talk About Kevin in Connecticut.

Written by Ramsay and Rory Kinnear, and based on the novel by Lionel Shriver, the film stars Tilda Swinton, John C. Reilly and Ezra Miller. Producers are Jennifer Fox (Michael Clayton), Luc Roeg (Mr. Nice) and Robert Salerno (21 Grams).

The film is an Independent/Jennifer Fox production in association with Artina Films and Forward Films, presented by BBC Films and the UK Film Council in association with Footprint Investments LLP, Caemhan Partnership LLP and Lip Sync Productions.

, Closer). Executive producers are Langan, Jalfon, Steven Soderbergh, Christopher Figg, Robert Whitehouse, Michael Robinson, Norman Merry, Lisa Lambert, Swinton and Ramsay.

The film follows the story of Eva (Swinton), Franklin (Reilly) and Kevin (Miller), who two days before his sixteenth birthday goes on a horrific rampage. In the wake of his actions, his mother Eva grapples with her own feelings of grief and responsibility and ponders whether she ever loved her son and whether his actions were her fault.

Kevin boasts of a top-notch technical crew including cinematographer Seamus McGarvey (Oscar nominee for Atonement [+see also:

), editor Joe Bini (Grizzly Man), production designer Judy Becker (I'm Not There) and costume designer Catherine George (The Messenger).
