Beta Cinema takes King’s Road

German sales company Beta Cinema has added Icelandic film King's Road [+see also:

film profile]) to its Cannes Market line-up.
The tragicomedy stars Daniel Bruehl (Goodbye Lenin [+see also:
trailer
interview: Wolfgang Becker
film profile]) and Gisli Örn Garðarsson (Prince of Persia).
The feature debut of world renowned editor Óskarsdóttir’s, Country Wedding, travelled the world and was nominated for four Edda awards in Iceland. King’s Road is produced by Mystery Island and AVE in co-production with Kukl & Vesturport. Producer Davíð Óskar Ólafsson is Iceland’s Producers on the Move 2010 in Cannes.
Beta Cinema also announced in Cannes that Janos Szasz’s upcoming The Notebook, adapted from the Agota Kristof novel, will star French actress Yolande Moreau (Seraphine). The project is a co-production between Intuit Pictures (Germany), Dolce Vita Films (France) and Hunnia Filmstúdió (Hungary). Filming will start in 2011.
