Nine Swiss films hit European screens

27/05/2010 - May, June and July are prosperous months for Swiss cinema as nine films bearing Switzerland’s stamp are being released in France and Germany.
Jean-Luc Godard’s Film Socialism [trailer] (Vega Film) was launched on French screens by its distributor Wild Bunch Distribution on May 19.
Two titles from Akka Films’s line-up are also setting out to conquer French audiences this May: Raja Amari’s co-production Buried Secrets [trailer] (released by Sophie Dulac Distribution on May 19) and Nicolas Wadimoff’s documentary Aisheen [Still Alive In Gaza] [trailer, film focus] (Solaris Distribution – May 26).
Meanwhile, Richard Dindo’s documentary The Marsdreamers (Lea Produktion) is set to be released in France by its co-producer Les Films d'ici on June 16.
In Germany, Oliver Paulus’s Tandoori Love [trailer] (co-produced by Cobra Films and Pandora Film, distributed by Arsenal Filmverleih) will hit screens on May 27.
German audiences will get the chance to discover Denis Rabaglia’s Marcello Marcello [trailer] (produced by C-Films and distributed by Senator Filmverleih) from June 10; and Stascha Bader’s Rocksteady: The Roots of Reggae (co-produced by HesseGreutert Film and distributed by Rapid Eye Movies) from June 24.
Two releases are scheduled for July 15: Ruedi Gerber’s Breath Made Visible [trailer] (produced by Zas Film and distributed by Barnsteiner Film); and Christian Frei’s Space Tourists [trailer] (produced by Christian Frei Filmproduktionen and distributed by Kool Filmdistribution).
