David Kross, the young German star of Oscar-winning film The Reader [+see also:

film profile], continues his truly outstanding acting career with legendary director Steven Spielberg’s forthcoming project, War Horse, which is based on Michael Morpurgo’s eponymous novel about the horror of the First World War.
The film, which starts shooting in August, will hit US theatres next summer. The film’s German release has not yet been finalised.
Just before he turns 20, Kross confirms his "Shooting Star" status awarded last year by EFP-European Film Promotion (see interview).
