APC elects Toussaint as president

25/06/2010 - The Film Producers’ Association (APC), which groups together 120 French independent production companies, has elected Anne-Dominique Toussaint as president. The Belgian-born producer heads Paris-based Les Films des Tournelles, which clocked up two hits with its latest productions: Riad Sattouf’s The French Kissers [trailer] (selected in the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight, 907,000 admissions in France and Best Debut Film César 2010; to be released in Germany on July 1) and Mona Achache’s The Hedgehog [trailer] (841,000 admissions in France).

Les Films des Tournelles, which is developing new projects by the two aforementioned filmmakers as well as Nadine Labaki’s forthcoming film, also co-produced Italian director Saverio Costanzo’s The Solitude of Prime Numbers , which may be unveiled at the Venice Film Festival.

The APC has chosen four vice-presidents: Éric Altmayer (Mandarin Cinéma), Alain Attal (Les Productions du Trésor), Jean-François Lepetit (Flach Film) and Marc Missonnier (Fidélité Films).
