Nomad Film goes On Tour with Almaric
by Camillo de Marco
02/07/2010 - Nomad Film has bought Italian rights to Mathieu Amalric’s On Tour [trailer, film focus], winner of the Best Director Award at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The announcement came yesterday from French distributor-sales agent Le Pacte.
On Tour, a behind-the-scenes comedy about a New Burlesque company, is the fourth feature by the actor-director known internationally since his performances in The Diving Bell and the Butterfly [trailer] and Quantum of Solace [trailer]. The film was released domestically on June 30, to great public acclaim.
In March, Nomad released another French title, Lucien Jean-Baptiste’s Meet the Elisabethz [trailer], and currently has on its slate the animated film A Town Called Panic [trailer, film focus] (Belgium/Luxembourg/France), directed by Vincent Patar and Stephane Aubie; Riad Sattouf’s The French Kissers [trailer], winner of the 2010 Lumiere Award for Most Promising New Actor; and Benoît Pétré’s Thelma, Louise and Chantal [trailer], a road movie featuring three 50-somethings.
