“Fridrik Thor Fridriksson returns to his best filmmaking, applying his trademark humor and strong visual style to this semi-autobiographical story full of amusing and heartbreaking scenes. It’s a personal film but with such a wide appeal and reference that we can all make it our own,” said Thorsten Ritter, head of Bavaria Film International.

The film won three national Edda awards last March (see news, including Best Actress for Kristbjörg Kjeld. It was produced by Fridriksson and Gudrún Edda Thórhannesdóttir (Producer on the Move 2009) for Spellbound Productions (Iceland), in co-production with Filmhuset (Norway), Pandora Films (Germany), SVT (Sweden) and Berserk Films (UK).
