Artificial Eye boards Archipelago

Artificial Eye has acquired the UK theatrical and home entertainment rights to British director Joanna Hogg’s second feature Archipelago from Wild Horses Film Company.

The film is a portrayal of a family in emotional crisis. As the son prepares to leave for a year of voluntary service overseas, absence and loss are the unspoken forces that expose the family's buried anger.

Archipelago follows Hogg’s acclaimed debut feature Unrelated [+see also:

, which premiered at the 2007 London Film Festival where it won the FIPRESCI International Critics prize. It went on to Hogg receiving the Guardian Best Film Award 2009, and the Evening Standard’s Best Newcomer Award 2009.

Tom Hiddleston, who will soon be seen in Kenneth Branagh’s Thor, leads the British cast alongside Kate Fahy (Defiance) and Lydia Leonard (Jericho).

Producer Gayle Griffiths of Wild Horses Film Company said, “Archipelago and Artificial Eye are the perfect match for each other. Joanna and I are thrilled to be in business with them.”

Archipelago is in selection at the upcoming London Film Festival.
