Local titles do well after Venice
Despite picking up no major awards at the Venice Film Festival, Italian titles are doing well at the local box office. Saverio Costanzo’s The Solitude of Prime Numbers [+see also:

Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere – also released by Medusa, on September 3 – wasn’t helped by her Golden Lion win, and slides from sixth to ninth place for overall takings so far of €1.1m.
Aureliano Amadei’s 20 Cigarettes [+see also:

film profile], on the bombing in Nassiriya that created a buzz at Venice, debuted at number 13 with €40,000 grossed over the weekend.
