Golden wraps Weekender shoot

Irish director Karl Golden (The Honeymooners [+see also:

) has wrapped his €1 million film Weekender after a London schedule and previous shoots in Amsterdam and Spain.

Jack O’Connell (Harry Brown [+see also:

) and Henry Lloyd-Hughes (The Inbetweeners) star as a pair of promoters in the hedonistic rave scene of the 90s. They are taken on a wild journey from the exclusive VIP rooms of London clubs to the outrageous parties in Ibiza super-villas and the hedonism of Amsterdam. It’s everything they dreamed of and more. But as their success continues to grow, they attract a more dark and sinister world.

Emily Barclay, Ben Batt, Stephen Wight and Tom Meeten also star in the film, which is written by actor and writer Chris Coghill. DJ and producer Terry Farley is on board as a creative consultant on the film. British musician James Edward Baker (The Tournament) is composing while Irish director of photography James Conroy (Wild Decembers) shot the film.

Benchmark Films and Foundation Films’ Ian Brady (The Crew) and Stephen Salter (Summer Rain [+see also:

) and Alliance Films’ Robert Walak (Lesbian Vampire Killers) are producing, with Xavier Marchand (Dorian Gray [+see also:

), David Hayman (Wasted) and Mark Jaffray serving as executive producers.

Momentum Pictures will distribute the film in the UK, Alliance Films in Canada and Aurum Producciones in Spain, in Spring 2011.
