Sheen, Riseborough offer Resistance

by

British actors Michael Sheen and Andrea Riseborough, along with German actor Tom Wlaschiha will star in British director Amit Gupta’s debut feature Resistance.

The script is an adaptation of Owen Sheers’ eponymous novel by the author and Gupta. The story is set in a re-imagined 1944 where Russia has fallen, the D-Day landings have failed and half of Britain is occupied. Against this backdrop, a young farmer’s wife wakes up one morning only to find that all the men in her remote Welsh village, including her husband, have mysteriously disappeared. A German patrol arrives soon after in the village and soon their purpose is revealed – to find and loot a medieval art treasure that lies hidden in the valley.
