Cameofilm launches Kolorado Kid and looks to the future
In Hungarian theatres today, Attila Csáky’s production company Cameofilm is releasing András B. Vágvölgyi’s debut feature Kolorado Kid [+see also:

film profile] (see news), which won Best Genre Film at Hungarian Film Week 2010.
Founded in 2003, the Budapest-based company made its breakthrough with Márta Mészáros’s The Unburied Man (in competition at Karlovy Vary in 2005) and was also associate producer on Simon Szabó’s Paper Planes (Best Debut Film at Hungarian Film Week 2009).
Its successes also include the co-productions Bird Saviour, Clouds and Wind by István Szaladják (selected at Rotterdam in 2007) and 1 by Pater Sparrow (four awards at Hungarian Film Week 2009).
Cameofilm is currently preparing up-and-coming Hungarian director Balint Kenyeres’s debut feature Yesterday (see news); and Journey Back to the Source by Gödrös Frigyes (Grand Prize at Hungarian Film Week 2000 and selected in the Berlinale Panorama with Glamour), an adaptation of Cuban writer Alejo Carpentier’s same-named short story from the collection War of Time.
Standing out among the company’s other projects is Simon Szabó’s Savaria Express, which has already received a development grant from the Hungarian Motion Picture Foundation.
Currently at the Hungarian box office, three European films distributed by Forum are performing well. In third place in the weekly rankings is Belgian director Ben Staessen’s animated film Sammy’s Adventures: The Secret Passage [+see also:

film profile] (financed by France’s StudioCanal), which has grossed over 32m forints in takings after 11 days on release (distribution: Forum).
In sixth position is Richard Berry’s French feature 22 Bullets [+see also:

film profile], which was launched last week (5.4m forints in four days), while Luc Besson’s The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec [+see also:

film profile] has amassed 11.5m forints in takings in five weeks.
For its part, Budapest Film is keeping another French production on screens: Pascal Chaumeil’s Heartbreaker [+see also:

film profile], whose audience figures have only dropped by 15% in its seventh week , with total takings amounting to 22m forints.
